    FAC president assaulted at Ryerson

    Troubling news: our president Justin Trottier, who also directs CFIO (Center for Inquiry Ontario), was attacked Tuesday night while out postering with fellow FAC member Peter Aruja. The assailants were apparently provoked by the promotion of a pro-atheist event.

Troubling indeed, I've seen the posters up for a week, and haven't heard anything but positive discussion. I think it's time to get more people out and involved to really get people to take notice of how badly atheists are looked upon by the majority of people who take their beliefs seriously.

I think it's time to educate

I think it's time to educate people that we atheists are the same as everyone else - you know, eating, sleeping, working, raising families, teaching our kids morals and so on. We just don't have any use for the concept of God and the control over people's lives that comes with belief in a deity, that's all.
