God certainly is a persistent omniscient being, and has been at work here in Canada on multiple fronts. We now have, thanks to God, our very own Big Valley Creation Science Museum, located in Big Valley, AB. So God definitely isn't on vacation from smiting, he's just busy giving people outlets for their personal religious agendas in Alberta.
I suppose that we in Toronto are going to Hell for idolatry since our new ROM (giant antenna on God's wireless network) is set to open soon, celebrating the last 10,000 years of human history, and the last ~200 million of geological/paleological.
You can listen to some of the owner of the Big Valley Museum Church on CBC's The Current website, check for the first 1/2 hour podcast/stream (it may take a day for them to update it, but that link should work). I can't remember the fellow's name who condems the church, but I would like to hear more from him.
Have a listen to the second part around hymenoplasty in Europe too -- exactly what it sounds like -- a surgery that "gives in to Muslim fundamentalism".
God drives a Cadillac
From theregister.co.uk:
[A] new museum, which says it sheds light on the biblical account of Earth's formation, shows humans living alongside dragons dinosaurs (just after the expulsion from Eden, of course), and contains a 30-foot tall replica of Noah's ark.
Now I thought that that was about Alberta's "museum", but there's another one opening in North America, this particular one in Kentucky. God certainly gets around, must be all those Cadillacs for Jesus that he has to choose from ;)
Scientific American notes that the launch of the $27m facility at the very least proves that the creationist movement is solvent. And at $20 a ticket for adults, this situation should only improve. ®
and Jesus drives a Trans Am
Yes the one in Kentucky, the Creation Museum, run by Ken Ham and his Answers In Genesis organization, just opened this past Sunday. The Friendly Atheist was there for the grand opening and Rally For Reason held outside the gates and reports on the day's festivities here and here.
